Principal's Welcome

Our Lady Star of the Sea is pleased to welcome you to our beautiful school.

Selecting a school that recognises the uniqueness of each child and is able to meet the needs of your child is an important investment in your child’s future. As you are the first educator of your child we look forward to working in partnership as your child continues their educational journey.

Our Lady Star of the Sea exists to provide students with a Catholic education based on the Gospels and teachings of Christ. Our school is an important part of the Catholic Church’s mission. We strive to build a community that offers a warm and welcoming environment to families while at the same time providing a quality and holistic education. As our Vision statement states Our Lady Star of the Sea is welcoming and open to all who seek a Catholic Education.

At Our Lady Star of the Sea, we aim to foster a sense of stewardship for the natural environment and promote global citizenship. This will be underpinned by Catholic Social Teaching and expert teacher practice to enact the Victorian curriculum to ensure a progression of learning for all children.

I hope you enjoy looking around our website, please watch the online tour and feel free to contact me on 5951 1700 to make an appointment or to find out more about our school.

Vision & Mission

Courage Compassion and Creativity

Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Primary School provides a quality and holistic education, where each child is nurtured in the tradition of a Catholic community that is prayerful, accepting and loving.

We promote a sense of independence and self-motivation, encouraging children to take responsibility for their own learning where the person of Jesus and His teachings are central. Our Lady Star of the Sea is welcoming and open to all who seek a Catholic education.

All children experience a stimulating learning environment where learning potential will be challenged. We recognise and embrace the individual differences of each child and ensure they are valued, affirmed and empowered.

Our Lady Star of the Sea Primary School supports and promotes the principles and practice of Australian democracy, including a commitment to:

  • Elected government
  • The rule of law
  • Equal rights for all before the law
  • Freedom of religion
